Fault Finding

Panel Antenna – Common Faults

1. Poor Read

Distance

7. Power lamp

should now be

on. If not,

return to Allflex.

If read is still

poor go to box 3

4. Is the reader

correctly

connected to

the battery?

Yes No

8. Is the exciter

light Flashing

Yes No

3. Does your

reader have a

digital display?

Yes No

9. Is the

antenna Tuned?

The current

should be

around 1 amp.

If the current is

less than about

0.8 amps – you

should retune

and test

2. Is the

Power Light ON?

Yes No

5. Is the Power

Light on

continuously or

flashing

Constant Flash

11. Battery

Voltage is under

11 volts – test

battery voltage

or try a different

battery

Fixed Not

12.

Go to Box

Number 17.

10. Is there

an obvious

reason, such as

a detached

cable inside the

box?

Fixed Not

13.

Go to

Box 16

6. Have

the power

connections

come loose

inside the box?

Fixed Not

14.

Return

to Allflex

15. Power light should now be on

constantly and reader should now

be working – if not go to Box 8
